Creative Work

I am a playwright, director, puppeteer, and Lecoq-trained actor. My work weaves together popular performance traditions (e.g., circus, vaudeville, musical theatre) with experimental physical theatre and object performance. I make theatre to make change in the world around me.
The Family Copōli
With music from British composer Michael Wookey, I wrote the book and lyrics to The Family Copōli: a post-apocalyptic burlesque and repopulation play. Set in a dangerously depopulated world, this new musical follows a family troupe as they present their sexy burlesque show to get their apathetic audience in the mood to copulate and repopulate. Behind the scenes, however, secrets threaten to fell the family tree.
Following two workshops at Catamount Arts (2019) and Cornell University (2023), The Family Copōli received critical acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2025. The piece will be presented in New York City in summer 2027.
Puppetry
My journey with puppetry began as a child when I did a school workshop with the Bread & Puppet Theatre company who are based half an hour from my hometown. I have since toured regionally and nationally with the Bread & Puppet Theatre as well as the Vermont PuppeTree. I also original puppet theatre pieces with collaborators and solo. Puppets remind me that the only limit to theatre making is one’s own imagination.
Burlesque
I was first exposed to the idea of burlesque in a community theatre production of Gypsy (I played a news boy). I later began researching the form when writing The Family Copoli, and I eventually began performing in it myself. My stage persona, La-Di-Da, is a political provocateur and histrionic heart throb.
